Contexte Il s’agit d’un parcours artistique [23 artistes] sur le magnifique site du CREPS [Centre de ressources, d’expertise et de performance sportives] de Boulouris, dans le Var. C’est la seconde édition de cette manifestation, créée en 2017.
Intervention Deux grands réservoirs souterrains [dont émergent les cheminées de ventilation] et un château d’eau permettaient autrefois d’alimenter en eau les bâtiments en contrebas, aujourd’hui hébergement des sportifs en formation. Les tours en pierres nousrappellent les pièces d’un jeu d’échec. Nous rendons hommage au « génie du lieu » et soulignons l’importance de la gestion de l’eau par une intervention minimaliste qui donne à voir un jeu d’échec et porte un autre regard sur ce site, en imaginant que l’homme saura se sortir de cette possible mise en échec due au dérèglement climatique et aux besoins cruciaux en eau.

Context An artistic itinerary [23 artists] on the magnificent site of the CREPS [Centre de ressources, d’expertise et de performance sportives] at Boulouris, Var, France. It was the second edition of the event, which was created in 2017.
Intervention Two large underground reservoirs [from which emerge the ventilation shafts] and a water tower used to supply water to the buildings below, which today house athletes in training. The stone towers reminded us of pieces of a chess game. We wanted to pay homage to the « genius of the place » and emphasize the importance of water management through a minimalist intervention that shows a game of chess and takes a different look at this site, imagining that man will be able to face and overcome the problems due to climate change and the crucial need for water.
